Location & Driving Instructions

Picture
Sunflower Cabins are located 10 miles north of Coffee Creek, CA  next  to Hwy 3 on north end of Bear Creek Loop in northeastern Trinity County, at the headwaters of the Trinity River. Our cabins are surrounded by the Shasta Trinity National Forest, Trinity Alps Wilderness and private timberland. We offer a great starting point for your hiking, hunting, fishing, swimming or sightseeing adventures.
About 10 minutes south in Coffee Creek you will find a Forest Service Station for maps, permits and info. A few more minutes south is Trinity Lake with healthy populations of Bass, Trout, Salmon and Catfish. Several marinas are available for your boating enjoyment. Other activities include gold panning, river rafting, kayaking, bird watching, photography, biking, hiking, picnicking, local winery tours, exploring local towns and valleys, or just relaxing and enjoying nature.

: Take Highway 299 West to Weaverville.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS

*Please do not use navigation short cuts on your trip to our destination as some alternate routes are not maintained or passable for spring/winter travel.

**Forest Rd 17 from Hwy 5 to Hwy 3 is usually blocked by snow from mid to late November until mid to late June.

Weaverville is a charming gold rush town that is well worth a visit.

However, from Redding there are alternate routes through Lewiston that bypass Weaverville if you prefer. Take Hwy 299 West out of Redding, then take the Lewiston-Trinity Lake turnoff to Lewiston.

From Lewiston there are two choices:

For the shorter route, follow road signs to Rush Creek Road towards Weaverville, and then TURN RIGHT on Hwy 3 and continue to follow directions as described above to Trinity Center and Bear Creek Loop.

Or, to see Trinity Dam and Lewiston Lake (a slower scenic drive) take Trinity Dam Blvd out of Lewiston towards the dam, and then TURN RIGHT on Hwy 3 and continue to follow directions as described above to Trinity Center and Bear Creek Loop.
